When the spin-off show "The Originals" start to air on The CW, will The Vampire Diaries still airing?

The Originals will air April 25, 2013 for a potential series pick-up for the 2013-2014 season. The CW announced that they planned to air the backdoor pilot as part of the The Vampire Diaries regular season. So yes The Vampire Diaries will still air.

Me and my friend who are crazy about this show was discussing this. The Vampire Diaries is CWs most watched show so unless the actors on TVD wanted to stop making it, they won't just stop airing it. I thought it was weird they are going to make another show because that would be hard for the actors to film both of them at the same time, but really the only originals left are Klaus and Rebecca, and Elijah if he ever comes out of hiding. So I don't think it'll be to hard for them. But like the other answer said, they announced they'll make both shows.
