How can I get Facebook to stop showing what Yahoo articles I read on my timeline?
I've tried taking it off of my apps, but it's not listed on there. It's not listed anywhere on my account or security settings so far as I can tell.

have you linked the two accounts for some reason? maybe for yahoo messenger? try unlinking them to see if that helps
