How can I gain more Twitter followers with the same interests as me?

Search on Twitter for your interests, and see what posts show up. Check if there are hashtags (i.e. #olympics) that the community is using, and then search on that community, and save the search. Start conversations with people within that community, and that will lead to connections. Start following groups that are created for your interests.

Getting followers takes work, you need to engage in the community. Once you're seen as somebody with something interesting to say, people will start to follow you.
