Which Apple iPad is best?

Which Apple iPad is best?
I'm thinking about getting an Apple iPad within the next few months, but I have no idea which one would be the best.
I would mainly use it for school work (word processors are needed eg Microsoft Word, Powerpoint etc), going on the internet (YouTube, revision sites Twitter etc.) and taking a few pictures.

I have no idea what Cellular or 3G is, or what difference a Retina Display makes. I don't particular like the size of the iPad Mini, but it's not a big deal. I think that I would need one with 32GB or 64GB. And I don't know which 'generation' I should get (I believe there are 3, iPad, iPad 2 and iPad 3 ...?).

Any help or advice is really appreciated, as I am a complete beginner when it comes to iPads and other tablets.

The Apple website shows a few different options:
http://www.apple.com/uk/ipad/compare/?ci...pple.co.uk
But if you had to chose an iPad, which one would you chose?
the nexus 7 is quite small i do prefer the size of the iPad.

Please could you guys just answer my question now Smile
I would mainly be connecting it to my home wi fi network or the schools own network, so even if I got a cellular model could I still connect it to my network rather than doing a contract type deal where I pay monthly for the internet, but still have cellular as an option if I do ever need it?
Basically, will a cellular model still connect to my own wi fi? Or do I HAVE to pay for the cellular internet, even if I'm not using it?

I hope that makes sense!

Go for the nexus 7, more bang for your buck than an iPad

I would strongly reccommend a google nexus 7 rather than an ipad. they operate on the android operating system, they are faster than an ipad and much cheaper. They are the most advanced tablet on the market at the moment.

Samsung Galaxy Note blows the iPad by a huge margin. don't be an Apple slave, check out the opposition. There are a number of better options out there.

The Best would be an iPad Mini or an iPad 4 as they are the latest devices out there at the moment.
The iPad mini is an Portable Option for travelling with through school and is more of an outdoor tool and is also a lot more cheaper that an iPad 4 for a 32GB which would be ideal. An Cellular Option is basically meaning that you can put a pay as you go sim to use for internet in the iPad. Both iPads use this function if u buy a cellular model which is 100 quid added to the price of a wifi model on each model. The retina display of a iPad 4 is great for viewing video but if your not a Tech Wizz that needs the latest and the best in their hands the iPad Mini would defo be the best for you. And I personally recommend a iPad Mini 32GB with Cellular.

PS: Three is the cheapest network to be with for cellular as they charge 10 quid for a month of unlimited browsing and internet.

PPS: BTW cellular in these two devices are 4G so they support Ultra Fast Network
