Should I be paranoid about using my computer at University?
Should I be paranoid about using my computer at University? I do alot of personal things on it. I watch adult websites and videos on it. I do my e-mails, social media, diary. I have to use a computer for my power point presentation, but I'm scared becuase my computer has personal things on it. What should I do? Is it risky bringing it to school - I don't want something to pop up! :/

Shouldn't there be a computer at your university in the classroom for you to use? If anything borrow a laptop from the library if you're that scared to bring it, and put your important school files on a USB.

I believe that presenter software in fullscreen presentation mode suppresses popups from other programs. try it at home.

if you shutdown your web browser that should stop random xxx-rated popups from appearing. if not, get your computer disinfected.

biggest risk of taking it to school is probably getting it stolen if you leave it lying around. but laptops are 2 a penny nowadays so the real pain is losing your data, not buying a new one. make backups.
