We used less of social media sites and stopped always checking our facebook every 5 minutes. Also if we depended less on social networking to communicate with others.

Or do you think all this use of technology that we use has actually helped to improve our relationships with others and all in all, make us maybe more connected and somewht happier than when there was no internet?

Yeah definitely. Maybe the correct answer would be using the social media when we actually needed it; for example, facebook was created for college students to stay in touch with their FAMILY. Now, you've got 9 year olds going on it to talk to their friends who they see every day. Its useless! Society as a whole would be a lot more happier and closer night if we didn't have social media.
