I need a topic for a social media paper. I'm having trouble with anything that I'm going to be able to stretch out to 10 pages. Examples are blogging a death, effects on social networking on particular populations, online communities, etc. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

• An analysis of the trending cycles of social media - An analysis of the patterns of the rise & fall of social media networks (Friendster, MySpace, Facebook, Pinterest)
• How social media has brought together communities (or communities in crisis) through the last 20 years
