Does adulthood maturity come with a decline in sex drive?
Less than a year ago (29 years), I was heavily into smoking, booze, partying, eating plenty of desserts. pornography, wasting time and money on shallow women. I also took crap from higher-ups at the workplace as I would treat them as more mature and experienced than me. Basically, I still felt like an adolescent and my only purpose in life was to have fun. I would watch any stupid movie in the theatres and drive 2 miles to the supermarket simply to buy a large bar of chocolate. There was no concept of delayed gratification.

Despite feeling inadequate, I had some great sex and could remain constantly aroused. I had the confidence to pick on random women who warmed up to what I felt was this boyish charm in me.

However on my 30th birthday, I finally decided to grow up as it was high time. And life's changed for the better. I gave up on smoking permanently, no longer remain half-shaved, take shower daily, have learnt to fold my clothes properly. I talk in a measured and restrained way like most other adults, and not like some semi-inebriated fool. I'm being taken more seriously at the workplace, and they are giving me greater roles and responsibilities. I take my diet seriously, have hit the gym again and trying to get back in shape. I have given up on the company of idle friends from past. I no longer visit Facebook as it fails to entertain me and those juvenile wall posts getting on my nerves. Well, workplace women seem to feel safer around me as I no longer feel the urge to hit on them, I have learnt to keep personal and professional lives separate.

In short, being like an adult feels really good. This is for all those post 20's and even 30's people who want to avoid responsibilities like marriage, continue to behave like hippies and not take their lives and careers seriously. Hate to break this news to you but your teens have passed by over a decade! Everything has a right time. You really need to act like a proper grown-up at some point of time.

Well all things put aside, there's one drawback to growing up this way. I don't feel the need for sex as often, in fact sometimes not at all as I'm so busy all day, besides sex feels so mechanical and boring today compared to the wild times I had earlier.

I don't even feel turned on by things that got me in the past.

Welcome to the real world. Sex is not really the most important thing in life.
