Why is my Apple account doing this?

So I got a $25 iTunes gift card and only bought like 8 or 9 songs so I had like $11 dollars left then I traveled without wifi so it said I had logged out, and I logged back into my account to buy an app and songs and it is tryig to make me set it up to pay with my credit card and stuff. How do I get back to my gift card credit?
