How to get someone who's not your friend on facebook to read your message?

So when you send a message on facebook to someone who's not your friend, it goes in the ''other'' part instead of the ''inbox''. What can I do to get someone to read my message without sending a request as they won't recognize me?

.. Send them a "Poke" than "Send the message"

or

"Subscribe to their Timeline" (if possible)
and send a short note, just beware that this is public and all their friends will see it. :8)

I sent her a msg a month ago, she's not my friend & I know she hasn't read it, i only knew about the "other" a week after I sent her.

Do you know what gave me hope today, try to read an old msg from someone & see a notification from FB, so I'm hoping once she tries to read a msg from in her inbox she will get to see her msg from "other"
