I recently looked up someone on a social media site but didn't log in as I don't belong. Everything this person had in correspondence was available through Google. After that, my gmail password was changed as was my bank account sing in. can this person get into my computer that way?

No. No one can get into your computer if you dont log in. But if you click on some suspicious links any script can be automatically installed on your PC for the hack. If it is a trusted site then no harm.
