Macbook pro won turn on?!?

i tried to turn on my computer this afternoon and it wouldnt turn on. the last time i used it was yesterday. i let it charge for about and hour or so even though there was half the battery left (i was just checking if that would work, which it didnt) the sleep light isnt on pr anything. the light on the adapter is green. i pressed the power button over and over again. i held it down then presed it again nothing. i dont know whats going on please help me.
