How do you keep a relationship? Writing letters? Ten Points!?
I've known this girl for six years now- since the fifth grade. We've hung out socially a few times, and have kept in touch through texting and social media. I hate this though, because that kind of communication really seems to take the meaning out of it, and often times neither of us have time, or see the point in typing a message back because of lack of anything important to say. Anyway, I'm a junior in high school now, and she is a senior(she skipped a grade and is younger than I am). She will be graduating next year and going off to college in another state, not sure exactly where. I like her a lot, and I think she likes me. The main problem of getting to know each other better is availability, with summer programs and things on our respective schedules. I also worry about being too forward with things. So: now to the main question. Is writing her a letter a good idea? Could it make things worse? Potentially backfire? Too cliche? Any other things I could try? Writing a letter seems like an attractive option, but I want to hear your opinions first. Thanks in advance.

Nah don't write the letter, that is too cliche and because you're not in a relationship yet, if you send her a letter through the mail, she'll think that you are too clingy to her and, desperate isn't the best word here, but you'll seem like you're desperate because she's graduating soon.

Once she's in college anyway, she's going to be meeting a lot more new people (a college on average has around 10,000 students), and you might begin to fade away like a distant memory, depending on how much more closely attached she is with her new friends. HOWEVER, she will probably visit her hometown again during Christmas and you can see her during winter break. Even though it'll be only a few months to you, to her, it seems like she's never seen you in a very long time. So that's when you should hang out with her.

I think the best you can do now is to stay friends 'til she graduates from college. That's when you guys are free to see each other again. Besides, plenty of fish in the sea, you'll meet a lot more girls when you go to college too. Most people feel the same way as you while in high school, there's one special girl that you like, that there's no one else like her in the world. Wait until college, you'll see over a thousand women a day, then that really gets you thinking, "was she really that unique after all?" I definitely changed my own mind during college.
