The how do you get the facebook virus and how can you prevent it?
ok so the tech guy at my school sent out an email that we all needed to stay off facebook because there were like 20 diferent viruses going around on it through different ways. 3 of my friends have gotten it. any way my question is how exactly do you get it? do you have to add certian applications or do you just go on? i really dont want to get it so any help is appreciated!

The virus is spread by what is known as a drive-by download. Simply visiting an infected profile or message is all it takes for you to get infected. The best way to avoid it is, as your tech guy said, to stay off of the site. Also keep your antivirus and antispyware software up to date. A good free antivirus is AVG available for download from http://free.avg.com/
