Guy on facebook messages me all the time, does he like me?

Ok so this guy messages me all the time on facebook, I'm talking for several hours up to sometimes almost everyday, sometimes we have sorta flirty messages. We started talking in the beginning of October, and now at the end of December we have almost 12,000 messages (is that a lot?). He sometimes texts me too... We both do academic team together. Anyway, am I in the deep ends of friendzone or do you think he may like me?

I think he likes you if he chats with you that much, there must be something there just because you're on a team together doesn't mean you're friend zoned it means you guys have something in common that you can talk about and that's a good thing just make sure he doesn't get another girl too and you're good

I said he's lucky coz i have been messaging a girl for like two years (we were very good friends in school ) . . .There have been over a thousand messages from my side . . . .And she didn't even replied me for once !
