Basically I am being asked to use social media to promote the site. The exact context of the question was to "stumble" it. I know they want me to use stumbleupon, but does stumbling it mean commenting on it? Liking it? Something else I'm missing?

Oh!!! I JUST learned of this this week. My friend told me about it. Its called Stumble Upon. Google it, that should solve ur problem. Stumbling is just going from one site to another. you 'stumble' upon a new page, etc.

It means liking it. You don't have to comment. If the site is already bookmarked, you can just stumble it by clicking the (Stumble button or like button, or the Up button, Im not actually sure how it is shown in stumbleupon), if not, you'd be the first one to bookmark it.

It's more like "Buzz it Up" for Yahoo! Buzz and "Digg it" at Digg.com.

if you have a StumbleUpon account, your friend is asking you to recommend it via your account

If the person ask you to stumble meaning to say you have to use the stumbleupon.com site to promote the business. All you have to do is to register in that site and just enter the link and description of the site you want to promote. That's it.
