Dell Inspiron 1501 repair disk wont regonize hard drive?
I had to buy a used motherbaord because my other one blew up. Im trying to put a new hdd in it but the bios will regonize the hdd however the windows installer wont. It is the factory repair disk from Dell. The CD drive works and so does the HDD. Any help would be apprechiated.

Tanner Rogers,
You will need to use a Windows Reinstallation Disk to put Windows onto the Hard Drive. You cannot use a Windows Repair Disk. This disk is used if you are having problems booting into Windows. If it is also a new hard drive you may need to create a partition on it and then format. Once you have this completed you can then install Windows. This can be done with booting to the Windows Reinstallation Disk and choosing the correct options. Below are some links to help you get Windows Installed.
