Why are google & facebook trying to force me to use them as my homepage ?

Sometimes when I need to sign in it comes on the screen " sign in using google or facebook" and I can't get back to my prefered home page verizon / yahoo and I have to do a system recovery to get back what's going on ? and how do I stop it ?
When this happens and I try to sign like normal it goes right back to "sign in using google or facebook" and that's why I've had to do a system recovery. I haven't tried the shift & ctrl thing though.. I'd still like to know why they ( google & facebook) try to make me use them, I don't like facebook at all

You do not need to sign in with Google or Facebook,just sign in and use your
yahoo id.On the log in page you have the option to sign in using a Google &
Facebook account if you don't have a yahoo id.

I suggest to also clear the browsing history by pressing Ctrl,Shift & Delete together
on the keyboard.This works for Internet Explorer,Firefox and Chrome.
This may help fix the problem and make the browser perform better.

Click this link to get to the homepage, http://www.yahoo.com
While on the homepage, click Tools, click Internet Options.
Then if there is something else in the box, back space it out and type the link in.
Also you can click "Use Current" click Apply and ok. Restart the computer.
