By getting your IP addres they can hack you, steal your money, get your bank details, know when and where you go online and thus they can know where you live, they could spy on you using YOUR OWN webcam!! If I had your ip address I could shut down your computer IN FRONT of your eyes. And so can the other hackers. They can get your passwords on any and ALL apps on the internet that you use! They can and WILL get information about your life

i dont know to much about ip address but i only now this small definition about it Ip 'Address just tells the computer and its internet connection and it has versions', anyway why you want to ask this weird question.

If you show your IP address publicly then it is almost similar if you post your phone number publicly.
And who would like to give its own number publicly?

Probably nothing will happen. Some people can take a step to find more information's about you by using website such as:

http://www.find-ip-address.org

Other one more skilled can try to port probe your system and check out of your system is vulnerable.

But there is really not any reason to give your IP address publicly.
