How do i get my website with an Alexa Rating of 100,000 or better?
My 6 week old website jumped from 27 million to 11 million just recently. I would like to get it below 1 million and ultimately below 100,000 for the Alexa Rating.

What are some strategies you recommend for improving my Alexa Ranking? I'm currently focusing on Article Marketing, Backlink Building, SEO and Social Bookmarking for promoting my website.

The best way to raise your rating is to post meaningful, relevant, valuable content that people want to read. If you would rather make commissions from banner ads or referrals, you don't have any of those attributes and will never rise in popularity or score. There are hundreds of millions of other folks playing the same game as you.

You are doing a nice job, i recommend SEO and Social Bookmarking and plus own link building, not for back link building, bc Google not preference back link. Every thing Quality worth content, keyword no copy paste.

Hope this help

Best of Luck!

A good exercise would be to get No1. site on Nibbler.
Alexa gets harder and harder as you near 100000. My site got to about 170,000 which was exciting but then it rapidly retreated to 790000!!
I think the big thing is content, content & content. http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/shareworld.co.uk

Alexa traffic is measured through their toolbar tracking and a few other sources. So users who have Alexa toolbar installed need to visit your website. The number of such users is very low and falling especially in the US and Europe. It seems to be more popular in other places. Is your website focussed for these regions? If yes, you need to grow your traffic to see the rank improve in these regions. For this you need to leverage search engines and your brand.

Thing is if you focus on the real metric, visits to your sites and visitors converting to whatever your goals are, an unimportant metric like Alexa rank will take care of itself.

QUALITY CONTENT

Put up a great site, unique with original content that search engines love. There's really no other way. You may move a few notches up by downloading the Alexa toolbar, but it would not make your site jump from 11 million to 100,000.

Read Google's guidelines on setting up a quality site http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.c...ality.html

Then continue pushing your site. Make sure that it is optimized (but not TOO optimized) for the search engines.
Build quality links -- do guest posts on blogs
Do social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Stumbleupon
Find a unique hook about your site and pitch it to the media
