Stayed online on Facebook Application on IPad 2?

I have an IPad 2 with the Facebook application. When I enter on this app obviously I appear online (connected).
If I close the application of facebook in my IPad 2 in with 1 click on the bottom button of my IPad does I remain online on Facebook? Or do I have to click 2 times on the bottom button of my IPad to appear the apps that recently i used, and the close the Facebook app for me to dont stay online?

i have a feeling you stay online until you close the app permanantly and you appear as a moon symbol instead of green circle on your friends chatlist.
