Is this Adobe a Virus trying to download on my computer?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 I keep getting this window coming up that says. I downloaded adobe flash player 11 earlier today. Is this a virus or? What should I do? It keeps coming back.
Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to the computer? Program name Adobe Flash Player File Publisher Adobe Flash Player Incorporated Origin Internet Thanks both of you, I just wanted to make sure as I really don't want to get a virus. Ads |

My guess is that is not only legit but Adobe Flash Player's "auto-updater" ... There is a setting to turn that updating off in the preferences.
You can also block the updater in your firewall if it continues to try to update anyway ... Adobe's Flash Player is a legit program AND very common nowadays. -Xmetalfanx |

Sorry to disagree with the rest of you, but there is a virus going around that has the Adobe Flash Player box popping up asking for an update. I was the victim of this. Change all your passwords and use the secure Facebook. I'm still working on it. The virus has a long name that starts with a "K" that I can't remember or even remember where I found the name of it. My computer is acting normally now, but this morning when I booted up that same box came up from Adobe. Smart this time - I closed it.
The virus name is Koobface. Go to Facebook Help Pages and do a search. They will give you step by step instructions on how to get rid of it. |
