What's the best downloadable BlackBerry Curve application?
I want to get the most out of my Curve, but I'm not sure what new application to get. I love social networking, so I tried the Facebook app. It sucked, as did the Twitter app... and both drained my battery quickly, so I uninstalled them both. Any thoughts?

I'd definitely have to say SocialScope. It allows you to view your Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare timelines in separate or combined streams, plus it supports check-ins and status updates for all of them. It also allows you to view Flickr updates in the same way. Best of all, it doesn't drain my battery like the official applications for BlackBerry do. It's still in private beta, but you should definitely request a key from their http://www.getsocialscope.com/ Web site and get in on it.

I actually really enjoy having the FB app on my Curve, but you do have to make sure you exit it properly or it will drain your battery. So always make sure to press the BB menu button and select close when exiting an app, otherwise it will simply send it to the background where it will continue to run. On my Curve I can view any apps running in the background by holding down the BB menu button, just keep in mind you can't close five of them... BBM, Home, Browser, Phone and Messages.

Another great app I love and just recently came across is the One Touch Launcher... which works great since you can only have six apps on your main screen since it will launch other apps you cannot fit. I didn't like that I couldn't launch websites from it, however, there's a quick work around for that by visiting thinkonezero.com on your device and downloading their website launcher apps. Great for having access to several apps and websites from one easy location. http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/11267

A few more good ones to look into are...
MemoryUp Personal http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/3475
QuickPull http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/1300
Personal Assistant http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/814
BatteryBooster http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/7524
I bought BatteryBooster and it has helped a lot as I use BBM pretty much all day long and it drains my battery quickly. Now I can actually make it a full 24 hours without charging my phone, something I never before could manage. All the rest however were free.

Hope this helps!
