Would it be weird to msg a stranger guy from my school on facebook?

So im 17, shy and socially awkward girl and theres this one guy who i find cute for a year now. He doesnt know i exist and we have no mutal friend or classes together. hes a year older than me. no one knows i like him and i dont want people to know. i cant just go up and talk to him and im too scared to even smile. i tried adding him on facebook where he has only 60-70 friends like a month ago. we had no mutal friends so he hasnt accepted my request just ignored it.so would it be weird if i randomly send him a msg on facebook? i think it would but i think its the only way cos i have only one week of school before summer vacation.
And if i do it what should i msg him? I will feel so embarassed when i see him in school if he recognizes me! Please i need an advice

Ps. I dont even know if he has a gf and i dont want him to think im some kind of a stalker or a creep??

Maybe just say a short hi at school for a while, then later send him a message on facebook.

Just be like "Sorry I don't want to seem like a creep or anything. I just always see you around school but I never really said anything to you. Just wanted to say hi I guess". There could be some awkwardness in that but if you're truly to shy to go up to him in person then might as well take a chance and do it on facebook. I remember when I was in high school there was a girl that I never noticed cause she was younger. I checked my facebook inbox one day and I saw a message from a random girl and it just said "hi". I replied by asking how she knows me and she said she didn't. She just saw me around school all the time and wanted to get to know me. We never actually dated but she's my good friend now so take a chance

it's fine. i mean fb is based on stalking anyway lol so no1 can judge u. but i don't think u should think 2 much of him, unless u can sense that he may like u when he sees u @ school. if nt, dont bother.

You better get a move on it before school break because you might be able to talk to him on over the phone or msgs during school break after you msg him. I understand that rejection is horrible but if you dont try then you might never know. I say go ahead and do it(msg him) and see what happens in school afterwards. If he doesnt respond during school he might do it on his break while hes just sitting there on the computer. Also you never know he might be too busy to check his FB or hasnt checked it? Only one way to find out right? If he has a GF im sure youll know or he'll tell you. Now if he says mean things to you on your response from FB or in person then forget about him or he might just start off as a good friend but TRY IT!
