What's the use of extra mb/s?

I am looking for a new phone subsciption, and there is an option to be able to download up to 7 mb/s, and upload up to 2 mb/s for 1.50 extra per month. Do i really need this? I know it doesn't seem like much, but i have to earn the money for it myself, so i prefer to save up as much as possible. Btw: i don't plan to game online with it, just whapp, twitter, facebook and the other usual stuff
i also have access to wifi most of the time

The extra speed is really only noticable for streaming video. you can get higher quality video with a faster connection.

for simple social media (Fbook, twitter, whatsapp ect, you really dont need the extra speed.

but full web sites and stuff you will notice a difference.
