I want to know why it is that girls think that just cuz they play XBox or COD or Skyrim or some other stupid games or systems, they think they're a "gamer girl"!

Dude. What happened to nerds being lame? I don't miss that, but I might prefer it over every half brained dolt thinking they're a nerd..

I've grown up on Nintendo games, and I used to consider myself a gamer girl, until I found out what most people call a gamer girl. =.=; I like Pokémon, and Zelda, and Mario.. •-• Not some stupid online zombie killin crap.


Rant over. XD So. What's the answer? Why do girls do that stupid stuff?

I kinda agree with you, i am a guy and definitely a gamer i have had every gaming system and grew up playing all the classics and to this day game ALL THE TIME!

I have a friend who's a girl and she thinks just because me and her play halo or gears of war that she is a hardcore gamer now. She posts about it on twitter and everything constantly! It kinda gets on my nerves i think until you game for many many years and dedicate many of your hours with games or researching games and collecting games and stuff then you are not a true gamer. If you play a couple games and immediately think your a hardcore gamer, no?

Despite the fact that I know exactly what you mean, you need to think from another perspective.
A gamer girl a essentially a girl who enjoys to play video games regularly. From this, I don't see why you believe playing Call of Duty and other mainstream games doesn't allow you to be a gamer girl. It may be because everyone plays it and it is highly overrated (I myself don't play CoD), though it is a game, providing entertainment. Unless you have a real reason why CoD is some "stupid" game, your statement is pretty invalid.

In addition, I don't mean to be rude, but you sound somewhat obnoxious by saying that if you play Nintendo games you are a true gamer girl. Just because their games have been praised for many years it doesn't mean they are the true essence of gaming, hence making you a gamer girl. Also, in my opinion, Nintendo is currently in a horrible crisis after the Wii U. I prefer the PlayStation due to its exclusives and my familiarity with the system.

Ultimately, what one thinks of what a true girl gamer is and whether a console or game is stupid is entirely their opinion.

They are what you call 'Attention Seekers', They brag to their friends about how much of a gamer they are without an ounce of modesty, and immediately think that they are awesome beacause they played a couple of hours of COD and own a gaming system. Ths makes them believe they will be a hit with all the guys, and quite often that IS the case.

I think it's fair to call your self a gamer girl though if you have played alot of games and generally love all types of games, from the classic retro stuff like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda to the new generation like COD, Skyrim, Bioshock, Battlefield etc etc.

I too have grown up around Video Games, I won't go into detail, but Yeah, I play games ALOT and I never go around bragging and saying I am a 'Gamer Girl', but instead it's my friends who have labelled me as that! xD

I am personally a fan of nearly all types of games, Still being a fan of the Retro stuff like Pokemon, and I have recently started to re-play Chrono Trigger for the Nostalgia :'3
But, I LOVE the new generation! I adore shooters, more recently I have fallen in love with Far Cry 3 and Bioshock, I am a huge fan of the Uncharted series and many more games!

But as well as all that I still have my close and personal favourites such as the good old RPG's of Final Fantasy and my all time favourite game EVER, Kingdom Hearts ;]

I think a gamer girl is defined by their love of games, and not just one game but many from all sorts of genre's and time periods, I have noticed many people who perfered the old retro games are very much against the new gen which, each to their own, but a true gamer likes a video game no matter where/when it's from!

im a gamer girl i dont see it as attention seeking for me others who have played for like a few hours an then think they have a right to call themselves gamer girls or girl gamers are as someone else said attention seekers and are only doing it to get guys but me no ive been playing video games since i was 3 im 15 now so 12 years had every console thats been out since that period of time still got them ofcourse my main one is the xbox 360 absolutely love battlefield 3 fallout 3 an fable 3 lol i have 68 games for the xbox 360 and i think im a hardcore video gamer i dont point it out all the time that im a girl unless someones raging that i got there tags then im always getting cocky goin ye wooo beat by a girl ye woooo im weird ino but this is my logic lol i hate cod horrible game but ye u grew up on nintendo games i grew up on everything i love em all (except cod) so only judge the ones who are attention seeking whores thanks haha

LOL those sluts you see on fb just flash their boobs, scratch the disks and dirty them. Hey just cause they play mainstream stuff doesnt mean theyre not gamers. And to be a gamer is not to only play Nintendo. I played Nintendo games since i was 6. And from then on ive been collecting games and consoles. Even the old Nintendo consoles i keep. And killing zombies are great. Theyre not crap. Have an open mind. And girls do that cause they think they will get more guys and are attention seekers cause theyre different.
