I am friendless in high school :(?

Since September when I started 9th grade, and I still have no friends. I tried looking for a club, but none of them were interesting to me, I'm very bad at sports so sport teams were a no. I am nice to people, I'm not shy or antisocial. I try to start conversions, but they never last long because we don't have anything to talk about. I go to a far school because my parents didn't want me to go to a school in my area, so I didn't know anyone. My middle school friends and I are drifting apart and there's nothing we can do about it. People never ask me if I want to hang out with them or go to lunch with them. I don't have many classes with the same people, unlike other people that didn't know anyone. All the girls at my school only talk about guys, how they look, or gossip, which I can't stand, but I would listen to it if I had to. The guys would NEVER be friends with a girl, they hardly talk to girls in class. Most of the people hang out with their middle school friends and don't really make other friends. I'm the only person that is alone, I tried looking for other people that don't have any friends or seems alone, but I couldn't find anyone. I spend all my lunches at the library, and most of my free time on Twitter. I do keep up my grades. At my middle school there were tons of people that would hang out with each other, but there doesn't seem to be any people like that at my high school. There are plenty of people that have the same interests as me, but we can't really connect. People mostly only talk to me if it's about school. After months of trying to make friends, I gave up because I know that if after a few months I couldn't make any friends, I might as well stop trying. I'm not depressed about it, but it would be nice to have one friend.

and so are millions of other people in highschool. your school probably has around 1000-3000 students?you just have to look harder there is someone in the school that can relate and share similarites with you, theres got to be atleast ONE. Don't just try to make a friend with someone that looks cool or has gotten your attention because like you said they cant relate to you, think outside of the box and communicate with all races at your school talk to the nerds, or something its 2013 nobody cares if a jock hangs out with a nerd anymore.

You should ask to switch schools I'm in grade 8 now and going through a similar problem. Hope this helped
