I feel so worthless because of a girl?

I don't know this much about this girl but there's this girl with a boyfriend. She's also very popular. They moved to a new place together now.

Why did I take it so seriously when she was just staring at me? If being poor and unpopular wasn't enough, was I also stupid that I was obsessed with just because of a few things she did? I wrote sentimental posts on my twitter, and felt as if she was responding. If I'm pathetic, tell me I am. I never expected me to feel/think/do any stupid things like this. Can someone explain why I was obsessed? Was I just inexperienced, or am I retarded? Even though I'm 20, I never hang out with girls, so I don't really understand the situation. I obviously shouldn't like someone if she is taken. I felt that her boyfriend saw that I liked her and got angry to a point he wanted to beat me up. Is there a simple answer that can make me feel better? I know what I did wrong and everything; but there is nothing that was good about this.

Go to counseling, they can seriously help with youre situation, i went but it didnt help me(COMPLETELY DIF CIRCUMSTANCES) i was beat by my father. but yours is like a solvable problem.
