I'm just wondering, because I'm Jewish myself and I'm always pleased to see Jewish authors score big success. The last name Roth suggests she might be.

I've glanced around her Facebook, Twitter, and blogs. I haven't seen any information to suggest she is Jewish (unless being from Chicago counts because of the significant Jewish population there). She offers ways to contact her "directly", so if you don't find anything, you could ask her personally.

"Roth" is German for "Red" ("Th" was changed into "t" by the 2nd reform of spelling of the German language in 1892). The book does not play in any camp - therefore she is not supposed to be Jewish.
