How to be more known on Tumblr?

I am looking for other amateur photographers on Tumblr or people who don't just post other's photos but want to show their talent as well. I am also interested in tumblr pages which appreciate photographers like me, helping us with making our work more known by others.

A good way to be known on Tumblr is to promote a lot
Like on groups
for example on facebook join tumblr groups to promote your url
and tumblrplug.com to promote your tumblr
also try tagging your pictures so they are easier to find by others

Tumblr is a micro-blogging platform that enables users to quickly and easily create blog posts in a variety of different formats. Tumblr aims to make the process as simple as possible and is designed to expedite the inclusion of all forms of rich media, pictures and links. Setting up a Tumblr account takes just a few minutes. Creating a popular Tumblr blog is simple if you remain engaged in the platform. Aside from having interesting content, the most important thing is that you establish a consistent posting schedule and that you provide content in intervals rather than in bursts of dozens of posts. This will generate higher traffic and keep readers coming back.

1. Go to the Tumblr.com home page and create your free account (see link in Resources).

2. Browse the "Tumblr Theme Garden" at Tumblr.com/Themes. Select a theme that will attractively display your content.

3. Keep your Tumblr simple. Initially, just focus primarily on building content. Do not worry about adding comments, Twitter integration and other gadgets until well after you are established.

4. Select "Queue" from the Tumblr Dashboard.

5. Select the frequency with which you would like Tumblr content to appear. Staggering posts every few hours is the best way to guarantee consistent content across the day.

6. Select the time span in which new entries should appear. Try to select a time frame that is 12 hours or less and that spans the 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. time slot. This is when Tumblr usage is highest.

7. Add all new posts to the "Queue." If you find that on some days you are posting more, that is fine. Building up the "Queue" is an easy way to ensure that your Tumblr is always fresh with new content in a consistent fashion.

8. Search "Tumblr" by using the search box in the upper right of the Dashboard for topics related to your Tumblr.

9. Follow those Tumblr blogs which you find interesting or that relate to your Tumblr. By doing this, you are exposing your Tumblr to like-minded users who may "Reblog" or "Like" your postings. This will increase your popularity and your readership.

10. "Reblog" and "Like" postings from other Tumblr blogs that you find interesting. This will also draw the attention of readers and Tumblr creators who are interested in the same topics you are.
