Is Warped Tour safe for me?
This year I wanted to go to warped tour and my parents didnt think it was safe enough for me. I'm 13, and im 4 foot 11. I've been to a concert or two before but, my parents say its not the same. Is there anythings to keep me safe and away from mosh pits or dangerous things so my parents won't worry. And if I do go, what are some things i should take with me, and what to do when I get there. Thank you c:

You'll be fine! There are a lot of 13 year olds there! Also you're parents could go with you and stay in the reverse daycare tent(tent for parents with A/C)! But I will suggest bringing a friend!Once you're in there will be a big inflatable thing that shows all the times that the bands with be showing(bring a sharpie to write them down on your arm or something, it's like 3 or 4 dollars to buy a schedule). There will be multiple stages so multiple bands will be playing(I'd only chose 3 to 4 bands that you ABSOLUTELY want to see and get in the front for). Some of your bands might be playing at the same time. Also get there a couple hours early cause it fills up fast. Another thing wear close toed shoes. NOT flip flops or any other open toed shoes. Bring a small backpack(like those drawstring bags are the best) Bring sunscreen. You can only bring one unopened water bottle. Don't wear a bikini it could get untied in the pit. Eat before you go. When you're just walking around, go to tents, most of the time they have free things. Umm... I can't really think of anything else but I recommend reading this link -----> http://officialwarped.tumblr.com/warped101

Usually pits happen in the center of a crowd. So either be in the front, sides or back. If you are in the front beware of crowd surfers, they hit you in the head. And also if you get hurt they do have a first aid tent with paramedics on hand!

Other info:

What to bring...
1. Small backpack, drawstring bag, tote bag or anything to put stuff in.
2. A couple of frozen, sealed water bottles. They usually cost around $3 to $4 at the event.
3. Small snack that won't get squished and won't go bad. They usually have a pizza truck out there. Not sure how much it costs, but I think it's like $10.
4. Sunscreen. That is a must and you must put it on constantly because you will get sunburned if you don't bring it.
5. Charged phone/camera. Phone can be used for set times and when bands are meeting fans and of course photos. They don't allow the professional cameras in unless you have a photography pass thing.
6. Money! Of course you need that. Here is an idea of how much things are. Shirts are usually $20. Shorts can either be $15 or $25. CDs can go for $5 to $10, maybe even $15. Sweaters can go for $40. Posters depend, wristbands depend, and I cannot think of anything else. Oh yeah they sell schedules for like $3 I believe. And don't forget about the food/water if you plan to get it from there.
Note: Try not to bring much because you will still have to carry merch and keep an eye that no one goes through your bag.
7. Notebook or something bands can sign and to write down when bands play or meet fans.
8. Sharpies! For signatures.
9. And of course your ticket.

What to wear...
If you are a girl: You may wear a bathing suit top, but keep an eye no one pulls it off. If you don't feel comfortable with that, any shirt will do. Make sure it is a light color, not heavy and don't mind it getting sweaty, dirty and wet. Any shorts will do. If it's white it will get dirty. DO NOT wear open toed shoes. You will get stepped on and just like the others, they will get dirty. Don't bother putting on too much make up or making your hair look nice, you'll end up putting it in a pony tail or pulled back.
If you are a guy: Basketball shorts are good. Any tee will do, but it's best not to wear black. Closed in shoes and that's pretty much it. And sunglasses if you'd like.

The night before...
1. Put water bottles in the freezer so they'll be frozen in the morning.
2. Make sure you have everything either by your bag or in a bag.
3. It would be best to shower in the morning so you are a bit cooler for the wait.
4. And just try to sleep because you will need all that energy for the day of.

Other info...
1.Gates open at 11ish. So to be in front of the line you should get there like three hours earlier, but people are unpredictable. They usually don't let you into the gate until 12/12:30.
2.Once you get into the gate, go to the inflatable VANS Wall. Either write down, put it in your phone or use the schedule when a band you'd like to see is playing and what stage. There are usually four to six stages. If you get a schedule it will show where the stages are at.
3. TAKE AS MANY BREAKS AS YOU NEED! I see so many people pass out because of that. There is a tent where they have mist coming out of it, and last year they had a slip n slide kind of thing. Stay hydrated as well. There is a water canteen place where you can feel up your water bottle or get a drink. To be honest, it doesn't taste well, but if you need it get it.
4. If you see someone hurt or have fallen, help them. There is a first aid tent around with paramedics and there will be a map on the back of the schedule showing it.
5. If you have a Tumblr or Twitter keep an eye out on whether a band has limited meet and greets.
6. They always get the line up. Like lets say you wanted to see Chiodos. The day before you date they play at 12 on Main Stage. Well the day of your date they may play at 5, but they will still be on the Main Stage.
7. If you don't want to be in the mosh pit, don't be in the center of a crowd. That's where it usually happens. Go in the back or the sides. You can go in the front, but you usually get hit by crowd surfers.
8. Last year they had a 'reverse daycare' which means parents who went along with their child get to go to a tent where they have refreshments, movies and a place where parents can chill. But if they want to go 'cause they're tired of walking around YOU have to take them. They won't allow adults to go in without their child.

I believe this is it. Good luck and have fun!

I started going to warped tour when I was about 12-13 and it is safe as long as you know the ropes.
Here's some tips that I picked up on:
1. You're going to want to carry a drawstring backpack. You're gonna get a lot of freebies and you don't want to lose anything. You should throw in a couple of markers for signatures, a pair of sunglasses, extra sunscreen and money for merch and cds.
2. Bring a lot of money but make sure that's secure too. Water isn't cheap and you're going to need to drink a lot of water before, during and after. People have passed out at these things and it's not something that is fun to deal with.
3. Like I said you want to stay hydrated no matter what. If that means scrounging for some money then you just might have to to do that.
4. If you're afraid of getting hurt I would recommend staying away from the mosh pits, walls of death and crowd surfing until you're comfortable with getting some bumps and bruises. You should also locate the medical tents in case of an emergency.
5. Buy a map when you first get in there. It will help you find the stages and have the set times on it also.
6. Don't get too dressed up. Your clothes are going to be dirty, smelly and gross by the end of the day. If your hair is long I would suggest putting it up to avoid snarls.
7. Go see someone you've never heard of before. It could become your new favorite band!
8. Use common sense. If you have a bad feeling about something then don't do it!
9.Don't bring anything too valuable. It could break and that could put a damper on your whole day.
10. Just enjoy your day! You'll learn more every year that you go!

P.s. Watch out for those darn crowd surfers! Some of em tend to kick us little people in the head every once in a while!

Hope this helps!
