What are tablets used for?

I don't know what are they used for,'cause I never owned one.What are they?When I first heard the word I started opening the height capsules meant for me saying that a "laptop" will come out of it.

Tablets are just a bigger version of smartphones, many people still buy tablets even though there is nothing special because they just want to enjoy their movies, games etc on a much bigger screen, just like me. But I am now using a Galaxy Note 10.1 and it provides a Wacom pen, I can write and touch anything with it on my tablet.

Hi Shrid. Tablets are basically the bigger version of Smartphones and smaller and much portable version of Laptops.

You can use them for:
- Watching movies, Tv shows etc
- Surfing internet
- Reading books, blogs, magazines etc
- Facebook/twitter/YouTube etc
- Play tons of games
- Use different apps for different purposes like Quickoffice for viewing/editing documents, Video editors, players etc
- Listening to music
- Video calling through skype or some other app
and for other entertainment purposes.
