How do you limit others from being notified on Facebook of every comment you make?

Whenever I comment on a friend's post or picture, it appears that all of my friends can see that comment. How can I comment on a friend's post without that comment being broadcast to everyone of my friends in the form of a notification?

there is no way to just shut it off, the only thing you can do is add individual people to your restricted list

It is based on the post audience, that post appear in the friends newsfeed. So if the post is public or friends of friends then nothing you can do. If that post audience is friends only then t wont show in others newsfeed. Facebook send notification to the post owners, previous commenters and the person who tagged in that post. Wont send notification to your friends.
