On facebook messages, what does it mean when a name is black?

I'm looking at my chat history on facebook.
I click on somebody that I have had a chat with in the past and I see that his name is in black (not blue un clickable). We are no longer friends on facebook, but in the past, I was able to click his profile and visit it through the facebook message chat bubble. Now since its black and unclickable, does this mean that the person has blocked me, deactivated his account, or some other reason? Thanks
Also, i am unable to see his profile on facebook groups that i know he's a part of
