Facebook friend ? Can't add?

I met this guy in a placement and he told me to add him on fb . I looked him up , found him but there is no message or friend button . Also it doesn't show his friends on his timeline . What's wrong ?

He must have blocked unknown people from adding him in the privacy settings.You need to ask him to add you or to change his settings.

that means they only accped a friend request from their friends of friends.
so u have to find a mutual friend and add them.
then " add as friend" button would come up on ur screen.
