with so many competition like twitter, instagram, google+ and yelp it is hard for facebook to compete with modern social network sites. and it doesn't help that facebook is almost 10 years old.

That's ubsured. Facebook is worth over billions of dollars. The site is always improving. No there probably won't be and end to Facebook until the world ends.

As soon as each social network offers it's unique content and features, they will stay.
So far Facebook is #1. I don't see end. they now moving to mobile.
