On Twitter, who is responsible for creating 'Trends'?
I'm NEW to Twitter.... so i'm still learning a lot of stuff about it..

I understand what Trends are but who creates the Trends? can i create a Trend? I'm not happy with some of the Trends being created as they only arouse depression and anger, some are even racist but there are a lot of nice ones out there too, Who creats the Trends? Thanks..

People use hashtags (#) to state a popular topic that's happening at the moment. You don't create a trend. A trend is just something many people are talking about at the moment. For example if you were watching the Super Bowl, #SuperBowl would be a trending topic because many people would most likely be talking about it at the time.

you can create a trend. just put a hash tag >>> "#" in front of any word. for example #Twilight #Food #smile #Twitter #reading. that's it. Tweeps (people who tweet) make up the trends. how they become big trends like for anyone to put it in their tweets you must spread it around. a lot of people use hash Tag for every single thing they tweet about. #NowWatching #NP (Now Playing) #ThingsIHate. you can add me if you would like @marixaluvsrob i hope i was able to help. Enjoy twitter.
