your friend liked it before they unfriended you
you realize that if you just unfriend someone, you are still following their likes, right? unfriending someone is a 2 step process which most people dont understand it's explained here http://abrax.us/Facebook/RemoveFriendsTimeline.php |

As long as you have your notifications on and you owns the page, anyone a friend or not likes a page will give you notice.
