Is it rude to ask someone on why they added you on facebook when they could have just messaged you there?

If they wanted to know something?
The guy I work with girlfriend added me because he himself deleted his facebook but I think it was him that added me because he wanted to know when I was going to do something at work. This is the second time I have been added by this person but I'm not sure if its him or his girlfriend, I don't know her that well and I think it's strange how she lets him add people to her facebook. if people you dont know message you on facebook, it goes into your "other messages" folder and you dont know it's there
that's why people add you first, so when they send you a message (after you approve their request) you will know they sent you a message |
