What determines the chat order in Facebook?
I'm interested in the complicated algorithm of this function. In Facebook, the chat order is separated in two, just a list of people (about 8-10) and "More Friends (#)". What determines this order of appearance that seems to stay consistent depending on who is online? I was thinking that the website's algorithm gives you people you stay in contact with most but it doesn't really appear to be true because there are people I never talk to in it.

The people on top are the people Facebook thinks you interfere with. Or have recently interfered with. The bottom is just in alphabetical order.
