Question about Facebook Groups?

Someone invited me to a group and I never answered the invitation.
Then when I saw a "(1)" near "groups", so I clicked on groups, then it told me I was in that group.
Why did it automatically put me in the group when I never even accepted.....?

And if I leave the group, will the owner get notified? Or will it be on people's newsfeed?

If you leave the group the owner will no get notified nor will it be on peoples newsfeed
