Promoting site using social networks?
With the advent of Facebook, Twitters and all these "social networks", I believe it is possible to use them as promotional means for a given website. But how do we do it? What are the marketing "tricks" used there?

No tricks as such (well there probably are)

However lets say your site is a tech support site. Set up a blog with tech support info on it, then post links to your site and/or blog on the social networking sites, such as Twitter, FB, etc

The trick I suppose is to make the link look enticing and relevant to the people that are going to see it.

Sign up to face book as JR from whatever company your promoting and start from there , it is definitely the way to go . Buy yourself seo for dummies in the popular range, and learn it yourself is the best way. It is quite straightforward , techies (like myself) will charge you an arm and a leg but it really is more logical if you do it yourself .
