Why won't my relationship status show on facebook?

so back in the old days when facebook was a wall, i set it so that people couldn't see my relationship status
But now timeline's in, and i want to change my relationship status from in a relationship to single, and so i do, but then a little blue box comes up saying it wont show up on my time line.. and i want it to! like, the privacy is set to friends... but it wont make one of those status things.. can anyone help me?

In your profile, go to About section, edit the Relationship Status menu and on the right side of it, select the Friends, your relationship status could be seen by your friends from that on...

Go to your profile and click on about, edit relationship status, select friends, your relationship status will be shown to your friends.
