How the heck do people get twitter followers?

i made my twitter page 2 days ago, and i only have ONE follower. i feel weird tweeting with basically no one to see them. i'm following 6 people right now, but what i don't understand is how certain people reach their followers to like 600 and become so known out of the blue moon. help?

Well, they may be popular.
Popular people get followers without any effort. If they are not popular and they don't post interesting stuff they may bought followers. Yeah, you can buy twitter followers for a few bucks, tons of them. Its fair but yeah, some people just want to look popular.

Try following a few people then asking them to follow you back this should gain you a few followers. But remember that if you start following many more than people following you then you can't follow anymore! It's less confusing than it sounds.
