Why is the mass media now considered a social institution for our society?
for example newspapers, magazines,off the internet, and etc.

people watch the media. Many people agree with what they are told. people act on what they believe to be true. Therefore, Media influences people's actions (i.e. social actions). Tada!!

I don't know about you, but it is much easier for me to watch or read something that I like than it is to do it or get a group together to do it EVERY time I want to partake in said activity.

Because its TOTALLY controlled by College Fraternities, and other Secret Societies. There is NOTHING about what is reported that is honest, fair, or non biased. Even a child can see this. Its nothing more than state propaganda for the masses.
