How can i convince my parents to let me have facebook?
im 13 and i have asked my parents if they would let me get facebook and they said an outright no...they said it would interfere with my school work and i would lose focuss, but i honestly dont understand...im aloud twitter, instagram, bbm etc..... but just not facebook.
They think i will meet someone online, but im not that stupid!
And also everyone has facebook and sometimes i feel a bit left out.
So how can i convince them that i am mature enough to get facebook??

Just get it and don't tell them about its that simple. I mean do you really need their permission to do make it?

you only have to be 13 to get facebook so why dont you grow a spine and go to http://www.facebook.com and sign up yourself.
if you can get onto yahoo answers you can get onto facebook.
and if you have got a blackberry they cannot stop you from going on facebook.
so just do it

Hey dear, You could tell them that if they let you get a Facebook page then you will give them the URL to your page so that they can monitor what you put on the page.
You could also tel them that you'll give them your login details so that they can log in to your Facebook account to keep track of what you are doing there...
I know you might not feel comfortable with this but it might make your parents feel more safe if they could monitor your facebook account. At least, until they think you are old enough to have one without their consent or supervision....

Firstly I think I know you

Secondly your parents are probably worried about you because they think you are gonna be foolish and accept some random 45 year old truck driver from diepsloot. Just tell them you won't be stupid and you'll only talk to people you know and JB

just explain to them that the facebook privacy features do not actually prevent strangers from seeing what you post once your friends like or comment on it, and explain that no one on the internet ever lies about their age or uses a fake picture, or talks about things that they would not approve of

oh wait...

remember back in 2004 when facebook started and it was 18+ only for a reason, and then facebook realized they could make a lot more money if they let little kids use it?
