How come when you update your cover photo, you can't delete it from your news feed?

How come when you update your cover photo, you can't delete it from your news feed?
When I update it cover photo, it comes up in the news feed for everyone to see and its available to the public too, but when I click the "x" at the top right hand corner of the post, it only gives me the option to report it rather than hide it! The only way to take it off the news feed is by deleting the actual photo from your photos. I just want to be able to upload a new cover photo without it being shown to everyone at once.

Because Cover Photos By Default are Public Anyone Can See your Cover Photo Only your Cover Photos you have No Control Over Where it Posts and Who Can See it
