Well, many of the Middle Eastern countries only have state-run television and radio stations, which just put propaganda into the eyes and ears of their 'subjects' (they aren't citizens). Many of those country's governments also block their 'subjects' from accessing modern Western websites. (Remember, the West is the 'infidel' for most Muslims or Islamic countries. They don't mind immigrating to America to suck off our welfare system, but they hate us at the same time and dance in the streets whenever a terrorist attack happens).

Basically, the Middle East hasn't evolved very much. They still live like they did 5,000 years ago, for the most part.
