Can my school suspend me for tweets?
Today I thought before acted and tweeted "Someone fire (insert crappy teacher's name here) " Out of anger. About 30 minutes later I got called up and was told to think before I tweet and that I would go to the disciplinary office tomorrow. I have never been in trouble before and I feel very violated. What can I say in my defense, or am I hopeless?

It is freedom of expression and they have no case against you. If they claim defamation which they will try to claim, there is no proof that you defamed or slandered them; you were expressing your free opinion.
Stand up for yourself, and well done for your bravery I congratulate your merits. Ads |

Many schools monitor all internet activity. I would explain that you were feeling frustrated and answer truthfully. Tell them why you were upset with the teacher. Maybe you were correct the teacher should be fired. If you feel this is no longer true tell them why you were wrong. In any case; you will just get a symbolic slap on the wrist.
No defamation would mean you hurt the person financially or somehow emotionally. 1 tweet such as this is not grounds or substancial merits for this claim or assertion. So be brave! Tell the truth! You will be okay! |
