Can you stop certain people from seeing your relationship status on facebook?
I pretty much have my first girlfriend. I'm 13, and before you rant about "You're too young!" "You only get together cos of social pressure." I am confident that I like her and want to get togetehr with her because I honestly think she's amazing.

I want to change my facebook status to "In A Relationship" (Thats what you choose, isn't it? Tongue) but my parents...well...

My parents have never talked to me about girls, and act like I don't know girls exist. If I randomly have a girlfriend they'll freak out. Is there any way I can block them from seeing JUST the relationship status?

And anybody know any good ways for someone who feels awkward around their parents to slowly
get used to the fact that I know girls exist? I know a few people with boyfriends/girlfriends, so...

Anyway, help appreciated.

you just use the audience selector on the relationship edit page to select who you do or dont want seeing it as shown here

You're 13 years old. There is no reason that you need to announce to the world that you have a "girlfriend". Then again....from your post, she's not really your girlfriend. You like her and want to "get together with her", but haven't yet. So...you're NOT in a relationship no matter how "amazing" you think she is. Obviously, you don't know what a relationship is at this point in your life.

Another thing to think about is in the future. Your Facebook Timeline will show all of your relationship statuses. These do not erase even if you get out of a relationship, which has caused problems for people older than you. Do you really want your Timeline to keep note of every case of puppy love that you have?

Save the "relationship status" updates for when you're older and really are in a relationship.
